Many people alternate between using saunas and steam baths, or use both at the same time when going to the gym. Although there is no mandatory rule on which one is best to use first, some people prefer to start with the sauna and end with the steam bath. Before entering the sauna, drink one to two glasses of water and rinse thoroughly while showering.
Heat in a dry sauna for up to 10 minutes without increasing humidity.
Exit and rinse thoroughly during the second quick shower.
Drink something refreshing, such as water, to keep your body cool.
Enter the sauna again for about 10 minutes. For the second visit, you can increase the steam by scooping water onto the sauna rocks.
You can also use a traditional blender made of tree branches to gently pat or massage the skin. This mixer is called vihta in Finnish. It is usually made of eucalyptus, birch, or oak. People believe that using Vihta can help alleviate muscle soreness and soften the skin.
Exit and thoroughly clean the body; Cool again with a glass of water.
Re enter the sauna for a final visit of approximately 10 minutes.
Cool down by swimming in a cold outdoor pool or rolling in the snow. You can also use a cold to cold indoor shower.
As long as you need it, you can lie down and relax.
Drink at least one full glass of water, accompanied by snacks.
Once your body feels completely cool and no longer sweats, you can dress up and leave the building.
