Salt Room
Classification of Salt Therapy
Salt rooms and salt therapy are a fairly new practice here in the States, but in Europe they are well known as salt caves, given their origins from salt mines where salt therapy was discovered. Instead of the confined and enclosed European salt caves, we believe in creating a calming spa-like environment for our salt rooms in order to give clients a tranquil atmosphere where they can relax while benefiting from the salt therapy.
Salt room therapy has been used to treat upper and lower respiratory conditions such as cold and flu, allergy, asthma, bronchitis, cystic fibrosis, sinus infection, sinusitis, rhinitis, hay fever and emphysema. In addition, the anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties of salt have been shown to effectively treat conditions of the skin such as eczema, dermatitis and psoriasis.
Salt therapy is a natural therapy that promotes good health through the inhalation of negative ions and fine particles of salt. Classification of salt therapy can be distinguished by the way it is applied and the type of salt.
Salt cave therapy (Salt cave therapy): performed in a salt cave or salt room, with inhalation of salt particles in the air as the main treatment method.
Salt aerosol therapy: A nebulizer is used to atomize a salt solution into tiny particles that the patient inhales or applies directly to the skin.
Saltwater bath therapy: Soaking the body in salt water to relieve skin inflammation and pain.
Refined salt therapy: Uses refined salt, usually sodium chloride.
Rock salt therapy: Use Himalayan salt bricks or salt grains.
In summary, salt therapy is a natural form of healing that can help people with many different physical problems. Although salt therapy has been used for hundreds of years, it continues to evolve and gain more and more attention.
