A remote sauna factory audit should connect one named product to the place, process and records behind it. Agree the review scope before the call, follow the selected model through relevant production stages, and record which points were observed, supported by files or left unverified. A polished video tour alone is not an approval record.

This sauna factory audit checklist is for distributors and private-label buyers who have shortlisted a supplier and need a practical way to review evidence from overseas. If you are still comparing suppliers, start with the broader sauna manufacturer selection guide. The task here is narrower: run the remote session and leave with a usable findings log.

Bropool’s supplied factory photograph shows cabin-production context. It is not a live view, an order-specific inspection result or proof of a model’s certification.

Prepare one model, one scope and the people who can answer

Choose the product route before arranging a walkthrough. A review of a barrel cabin’s timber assembly is different from a review of an infrared cabin’s panel and controller configuration. Use the current sauna range to identify a reference model, then put its configuration and drawing revision into the sauna specification file.

Send a short agenda with the questions that could change your sourcing decision. Ask the supplier to confirm the proposed manufacturing location, available production stages and people attending. If the chosen model is not being made that day, agree whether you will see a sample, a different model or previously recorded evidence. Label that substitution in your notes.

  • Product: model, heat route, electrical version, important options and document revision.
  • Purpose: supplier qualification, sample review, a production-stage check or a specific unresolved concern.
  • Coverage: areas and records to be shown, items that cannot be viewed remotely, and any subcontracted steps needing separate evidence.
  • People: buyer reviewer, supplier production or quality contact, camera operator and interpreter where needed.
  • Practical arrangements: time zone, connection test, readable close-ups, file-sharing method and a fallback for interrupted video.
  • Privacy: agree recording permission, access and retention. Keep unrelated customer orders and personal information out of the shared material.

Remote inspection can be more structured than a sales call. SGS describes remote inspection using expert-directed observation, video and image capture, and retained inspection records. That is a useful distinction when planning evidence collection; it does not mean SGS has audited Bropool or endorsed this checklist.

Sauna factory audit checklist for the live review

Use the table as a working agenda. Bropool’s factory and quality page provides the separate first-party context for timber preparation, machining, assembly, inspection and packing. During your review, ask which of those stages applies to the selected product and where the matching records are kept.

Suggested buyer questions, not a statement of standard inspection scope. On small screens, swipe the table horizontally.

What to show, what to retain and what remains open
Review point Ask to see or receive Limits of this evidence
Site and participants Site name and address, participant roles and the route through the relevant workshop. Signage and video alone do not establish ownership, legal status or production capacity.
Product identity A model or job reference matched to the current drawing, configuration and visible unit. Appearance alone does not establish the quoted model or electrical-version identity.
Timber and parts Component identification, approved material references and available incoming-check records. Video does not establish species, grade, treatment or moisture condition.
Machining and assembly Relevant panel, bench, door and glazing work, plus the drawing and criteria used for checks. Visible activity does not prove that all dimensions, hidden joints or an entire batch conform.
Heating and controls Component labels, approved configuration, applicable check procedure and available results. A lit controller does not prove electrical safety, heating performance or certification.
Inspection and exceptions A relevant check record and, where shareable, how a rejected part or open issue is identified and closed. One example cannot establish a defect rate or verify every inspection practice.
Packing and accessories The proposed supplied form, protection, accessory list, marks and packing-list revision. A sealed crate does not prove its contents, handling performance or release status.
Documents and change control Matching model, electrical rating, manual, label proof and approved changes across the file set. A logo, expired file or mismatched record does not establish coverage of this order.

Keep the visible product connected to its records

Follow a reference through the review

Ask the supplier to start with a permitted model or job reference, show the relevant unit or component, then open the associated record. Capture the identifier and revision in your notes. Where possible, move from a wider workshop view to the detail without an unexplained cut. If the connection fails or the view changes to recorded material, note the interruption and repeat the identity check.

A privacy-redacted record can still be useful if the fields needed to match the product remain readable. If redaction removes that connection, mark the point unverified. Do not ask for another customer’s confidential order as proof.

Request the original file when the screen is not enough

A blurred number is an unresolved number. Request the permitted source file or a readable still, record who supplied it and when, and distinguish it from something you observed live. For timber questions, use the component and sample references in the sauna wood selection guide; the camera cannot establish every material property.

Keep certification checks separate from the tour

Use the model-specific document records and the ETL authorization reading guide for document scope. Intertek provides official product directories for checking products carrying its marks. Match the appropriate record and identifiers; a workshop view or a mark visible on one component does not establish coverage of the complete quoted cabin.

Do not request improvised live electrical tests or the removal of safety guards for a better camera view. Agree any witnessed test with qualified personnel, a defined procedure and a clear record of what was actually observed.

Write a findings log instead of an unsupported pass score

Give each finding a stable reference. Keep the requirement, evidence, gap and follow-up together so another reviewer can understand the decision without replaying the entire call. Do not invent a percentage score that treats a missing model identity as equivalent to a missing cosmetic photograph.

Copy these fields into your own review log. The examples describe record fields, not actual Bropool findings. Swipe on small screens.

Minimum fields for a reviewable finding
Field What to record Why it matters
Requirement Model, component, drawing or order revision and the criterion under review. Avoids approving an unspecified product or an obsolete revision.
Evidence reference File name/version, permitted screenshot or call timestamp, source and review date. Lets a second reviewer locate the same evidence.
Evidence status Observed live, supplied document reviewed, supplier statement only, or not verified. Separates the method of observation from whether the requirement was met.
Finding and limitation What matched, what differed, unreadable fields, excluded areas or sampling limits. Prevents a partial view from becoming a batch-wide conclusion.
Follow-up Named owner, agreed due date, required replacement evidence and any hold point. Turns an open question into an action that can be checked.
Closeout Reviewer, date, evidence accepted and remaining conditions. Shows who accepted the response rather than assuming silence meant approval.

Decide what needs follow-up before an order moves forward

Proceed only within the reviewed scope. A satisfactory supplier review may justify the next sample or quotation stage. It does not automatically release a production batch, approve a revised electrical configuration or establish suitability for shared commercial use.

Keep unresolved points open. An unavailable record, unreadable label or absent production stage needs a specific follow-up. If product identity, important configuration details or acceptance criteria cannot be reconciled, pause the affected approval. Where physical access, independent sampling or specialist witnessing is needed, agree a suitably qualified on-site or third-party inspection instead of stretching the video conclusion.

Separate factory review from shipment release. Reconcile the approved supplied form and accessories with the packing and receiving plan. A supplier qualification call is not a count of the goods inside a future shipment.

To request a Bropool review, send the selected model, destination, intended use, configuration revision, review purpose and the specific records or production stages you want to discuss. Ask which materials and access can be provided before scheduling. Start with a model-specific review request and keep any unconfirmed availability or commercial terms in the follow-up log.
